🌟 Big News! Over the last few months, our community of spirited riders has successfully rescued a whopping 5,300 pounds of produce, pre-made meals, bread, and other essentials. These treasures find their home at the Food Not Bombs popup food bank in SODO. Can you believe it? We couldn’t have done it without you!

Lead the Way! We're on the hunt for enthusiastic volunteers to steer our rides! If you've volunteered a few times and feel the pull to lead, we'd be thrilled! Just add "Can lead ride from Ballard to SODO" or "Can lead trailer pickup and drop-off" in the Registration Note when you sign up to volunteer. Your guidance can make our rides even smoother!

 

📍Two Epic Meetup Locations:

• U District Food Bank at 9:30am: Dive into the excitement right from the start by helping us pick up bins! Map here.
• Ballard PCC at 10:15am: If you're nearer to Ballard or wish to start a bit later, meet us here! Map here.

Why Sunday is Funday: Every Sunday, team up with the Pedaling Relief Project and Food Not Bombs Emerald City. Become a part of a joyful brigade that rides across Ballard PCC and Fremont PCC, rescuing food that nourishes our community.

🎒Gear Up With:

• Your trusty bike & helmet.
• A lock & mask (Pedal safe, stay safe!).
• Backpack, bike bag, basket, trailer, or any other means to carry 20+ pounds of love! Need extra space? Our Burley Flatbed trailers can house 100+ pounds. Curious if it's compatible with your bike? Find out!

The Route We Ride: Our 8.8-mile route is a biker's dream - it's mostly downhill and runs along serene bike lanes and separated bike trails. Check out the scenic path on Ride With GPS. We maintain a community-friendly pace of 8 to 10 miles an hour. If anyone lags, no worries! We always regroup to ensure everyone’s together.

Our Ride Recipe:

• 10:15am: Assemble & load up bikes with donations. Our ride co-leads and other experienced volunteers will guide us!
• 10:30am - 10:45am: Ride as a group from Ballard PCC ➡️ Fremont PCC. Every pedal counts!
• 11:15am: Group ride to SODO's pop-up food bank. We're better together, so we'll regroup along the way.
• 11:45am - Noon: The grand finale! Deliver those precious donations to the SODO food bank popup, ready to nurture families in need.

Bonus Round: Sun’s out? Let’s celebrate our day’s achievements with some lunch, coffee, or donuts! Later, any volunteers for a mini-adventure to return bike trailers and bins to the University District Food Bank? Let us know!
