Description:

2024 Tacoma MTP Club Volunteer

Club days are TBD

Come volunteer with Major Taylor Project (MTP)! Volunteering with MTP provides a great way to uplift young people and contribute meaningful support to our shared community!

MTP is focused on investing in the lives of Black and Indigenous youth particularly. We want a large part of our volunteer base to reflect the community we serve. We strongly encourage Black and Indigenous folks of color to apply as MTP volunteers!

The primary volunteer opportunities include:

1)      Assistant Ride Leader- riding along as support once a week on local community bike rides, as well as larger Cascade event rides.

2)      Bike Maintenance: assistants for bike maintenance youth programming is needed especially in the winter months for Build-a-Bike, but all level of mechanics are needed year-round.

3)     Additional MTP related tasks

We want volunteers to be able to serve in a neighborhood, club site, or school locale ideal for them. MTP operates in both King and Pierce County, serving youth from Sand Point through Tacoma. All volunteer applicants will be subject to a background check, and will attend an orientation prior to assignment.

Volunteering with MTP is not only a fun way to be connected with your community, it also allows you to pay it forward for the next generation of bikers.. Bring your unique skill sets and expertise to the table to help empower our youth. Come ride with us and volunteer for MTP!

As an added bonus, all of our volunteers are eligible for comped registration for nearly all of our major rides, starting with as little as 6 hours of volunteer time. Read more on our Volunteer Benefits page.
