Opportunity Details | Flying Wheels - Route Marker - Anytime in the week before
Opportunity Name:
Flying Wheels - Route Marker - Anytime in the week before |
|
Description:
Flying Wheels - Route Marker - Anytime in 2 weeks leading up to the ride
Role description: As a Route Marker you will travel along the Ride With GPS route a few days before the event in order to paint arrows directing the riders along the route. Normally this is done with a car, but if you are a go getter and walk like to use your bike to pre-ride the route we will track your volunteer hours. This opportunity is best done with a friend who can help read the route map and direct / navigate.
We will reimburse you for a meal as well as mileage while you are out on the road, so please save your receipts!
For new volunteers: If you are a new volunteer we'll team you up with one of our experienced volunteers so that you can go out and mark a section of route together.
For returning & trained volunteers: Two weeks before the event Maxwell will organize a 30 to 45 min virtual check-in with the route marking volunteers. At this check-in we'll split up the route into the sections that each team will mark and also talk about timing and picking up the route marking kits.
