Opportunity Name:
Let's Go Bike Build Party - Ongoing

Description:

Let’s Go Bike Build Party - Ongoing

Role description:

Each year, over 20,000 students from four school districts participate in Cascade's Let's Go program. They learn basic basic traffic and safety concepts, and hone skills that are components of a healthy, active, and environmentally-friendly lifestyle. Some students even learn to ride for the first time!

The party will be held in our fully equipped Fix-It-Garage.

Some of the tasks that we’ll undertake will be:

  • New bike assembly;
  • Minor Hub adjustments;
  • Minor Bottom bracket bearing adjustment;
  • Replacing tubes when needed;
  • Loading and unloading bikes from trailers;

Snacks and coffee, and other drinks will be provided.

Orientation:

This opportunity is open to volunteers who have attended any of the bike maintenance classes that we have held just for volunteers.

Mike will be on hand to answer questions, show you where tools and supplies are and give you directions.

Supplies:

Cascade will provide all of the supplies needed and tools that you will need to work on the fleets of bikes.

We will have copies of our Service Inspection 101 Checklist printed out for you to help you stay on task and allow you to take notes.
